Madison
In a county rich in Florida history, Madison stands out as both the county seat and the commercial hub of a largely agricultural area of the state.

Located approximately 50 miles east of Tallahassee it is benefiting from the proximity to Interstate 10 which runs just to the south of town. Home to North Florida Community College, Madison enjoys a blend of the old and the new. The downtown area has been renewed with lamps, trees, brick pavers, and wide walks. An active Chamber of Commerce located at 105 North Range Street will gladly provide information and locations of great places to stay, visit, eat, and shop. This is a town just on the verge of being discovered! So....

Penny For Your Thoughts

Micanopy
Tucked between the speeding traffic of I-10 and U.S. 441, this small town makes an ideal stop for those who want a break. Get off at exit 73 and go back 175 years to a cool, wooded community that has attracted antique and collectible dealers to a quieter style of living. Time doesn't stop in Micanopy, but it moves at a considerably slower pace. Proximity to the natural wonder of Paynes prairie, as well as many other historic and commercial attractions make Micanopy a great place to shop for that special treasure.

Monticello
Named after Thomas Jefferson's home, Monticello is the seat of government for Jefferson County, the "keystone" of North Florida. The traffic circle around the courthouse serves as the intersection of U.S. highways 19 and 90 and Interstate 10 passes just south of town. A history dating back to the establishment of the town and county in 1827 explains the many old houses, the restored Opera house, the old Churches, and the tranquility that is a hallmark of Southern towns. Antiques are still to be found in Monticello in a variety of businesses that range from trading posts to traditional dealers and malls. Mixed in are shops that feature vintage and rustic items prized by collectors

Tallahassee
A city of beautiful trees, the capital city of Florida is surrounded by plantations and is host to historic homes and gardens. The Spanish conquistador, Hernando DeSoto, celebrated Christmas here in 1539. The location as the capital city was set in the early 1800s to be the halfway point between Pensacola and St. Augustine, the population centers at the time. A French influence was introduced by a land grant to the Marquis de Layfayette for his service in the American revolution and Napoleon's nephew, Achille Murat, was a plantation owner here. The long history and steady growth has made Tallahasse an excellent place to market antiques and vintage items. Visit these shops.
